He blocks the kick but he's allowed himself to become unfocused; he's too busy marvelling at the speed of her to concentrate on the incoming elbow. The block moved him so it doesn't strike full centre but it does catch him hard in the chest and he definitely feels it, sucking air in over his teeth in a sharp hiss.

At least he wont make that mistake again.
